Grand Canyon River Rafting

Do you see yourself crashing through boiling rapids, getting sopping wet in the process? Or maybe you'd prefer to float peacefully down the Colorado, enjoying the solitude and the wildlife. Each choice of trip, with different water conditions and boat types, will give you a unique Grand Canyon river rafting experience.

Most companies offer a variety of trips. You can get an all-inclusive package or arrange some of the details yourself. A one day rafting trip might be a good icebreaker, but you may find that a single day only whets your appetite! A good company will take you on a three to six day trip, serve you fresh delicious meals the whole time, and give you all the fascinating details about the canyon. At night, you can relax around the campfire or lounge an the sandbar. Finally, you can bed down under the stars if you want (they also provide tents and cots). You won't really be "roughing it" during a Grand Canyon river rafting trip.

Check out the Grand Canyon Tour & Travel website and look at the rafting trips. They have plenty of tours at the best prices. Choice is good!

The boats that are used for Grand Canyon river rafting each deliver a different experience. The largest pontoon rafts are used in the heaviest water conditions. They are very safe (almost too wide to tip over), but since you can go in the biggest rapids with them, they are also very exciting.

If you saw the movie "The River Wild" then you know what the rowboats that are used in the Grand Canyon look like. The guide does all the work and you can just ride along. These handle around five passengers each. You can get really close to the water.

More active folks might try a paddleboat. Paddleboat just means that YOU get to paddle. A guide shouts out orders to the 8 or so passengers, and they shoot the rapids like professionals (at least that's the theory).

A Grand Canyon river rafting tour can be your "trip of a lifetime". Heck, just being at the Grand Canyon is mind-blowing no matter what activity (or inactivity) you choose. But being down on the Colorado River, experiencing the thrill of whitewater and the tranquility of the Canyon, now THAT'S a Grand Canyon river rafting trip to remember for a long time.

Have a great vacation! Don't forget to check out Grand Canyon Tour & Travel for Grand Canyon river rafting trips
